What We Do
Larry Locke is best known as the director of the 1996 cult documentary classic, PIN GODS.
In May of this year the film was given a special retrospective screening as part of internationally known curator Thom Powers' premiere doc series, STRANGER THAN FICTION in NYC.
He is known for his affinity for people with out-of-the-ordinary dreams or quests that transcend their otherwise very normal lives.
In addition Larry was co-owner of the pioneering New York City post production company, ARC PICTURES for 17 years. He and his business partner, Jan Grznar, are considered pioneers in the development of the personal documentary in the 1990s.
Over 38 PBS national films, 13 HBO docs and 3 Academy Award nominated films came through Arc.
Major ad agencies, cable networks and corporations including Jack Morton Worldwide, IBM, Pfizer, Oxygen Media and many others were also longtime clients.
Since 2008, Larry has produced commissioned films through LARRY LOCKE FILMS out of Westport, Connecticut. This year, 2010, has brought a CINE GOLDEN EAGLE and a PLATINUM REMI for DREAM BUILDERS: the Partnership of Peter M. Lehrer and Gene McGovern.
In addition the company has produced films for the Univ of Bridgeport, the Barnum Museum, Aquarion Water, Beardsley Zoo, and the national vitamin supplement company, Designs For Health.
Larry also produced, directed, edited and shot
F A B R I Z I, a full length documentary on the mayoral term of the controversial, John Fabrizi.
Larry's films have played all over the world for close to 20 years in almost every major film festival, broadcast and cable TV and art house theatrical.
He brings authentic story-based, character driven filmmaking to commissioned work.
